115kV Substation Resilience Upgrade in Puerto Rico

Following extensive hurricane damage to Puerto Rico’s power infrastructure, this 115kV substation project was developed to support grid restoration while improving long-term resilience against severe weather conditions.

The substation incorporates reinforced steel structures engineered for stronger wind resistance, along with equipment selected for enhanced corrosion protection and weather sealing. Critical systems were designed with redundancy to help maintain stable operation and improve reliability during unexpected events.

To support a more flexible energy network, the project also includes provisions for distributed energy integration and a faster fault-isolation approach. Throughout design and implementation, our team worked closely with the client and local community stakeholders to align the solution with practical recovery and future energy needs.
